Pelvic Floor/Connective Tissue Loading & Exercise in Pregnancy

May 7, 2016

Did you miss today's Pregnancy Wellness Information Session?  Here are some videos of part of my presentation...an updated version of "my towel is a pelvic floor,"  as well as my connective tissue slinky.  The videos show how healthy levels of weight gain in pregnancy (average 12kgs) place the pelvic floor muscles and connective tissue under significant load in pregnancy.  Therefore, we want to choose exercise options that support the connective tissue rather than strain it.  Strain may occur from high load, high impact and high bounce activities.  It is also wise to choose options where the people guiding you understand the needs of pregnant & postnatal women.
