The Jump Test

April 24, 2016

Considering returning to some more vigorous exercise post-birth?  The jump test is a quick way to see how your pelvic floor muscles are recovering.

You should NOT consider doing the test before about 12 weeks post-natally or if you are already demonstrating signs of pelvic floor dysfunction such as incontinence, frequency, urgency, pelvic girdle pain, difficulty using bladder or bowel, prolapse etc.  Please stop the test if you experience any symptoms and seek individual advice from a pelvic floor physiotherapist.
